Three players per ball. Take turns being a reasonably active defender and attackers who practise close control before passing.
Keep the ball under close control, controlling with the inside and outside of both feet. Move quickly when your opponent tries to intercept, e.g. tapping or lifting the ball away.
Restricted area, fully active defender who changes place after an interception.
Coaching points (here we call them SECRETS):
  • When you receive the ball, it is important to get it under control immediately
  • It is then best if you keep the ball close to you when your opponents are nearby
  • You will then usually avoid an attack from your opponents
  • Keep the ball under close control so that you can carry out the next skill quickly
  • You can dribble, pass or shoot quickly without a large number of unnecessary touches
  • Instead, you can carry out the skill immediately without setting the ball up
  • Learn to control the ball in this manner with all possible parts of your body
  • In particular with the inside and outside of both feet, as well as the upper side and underside
  • Acting in this way will give you both time and space to use your technique
  • You can also move quickly if your opponent suddenly tries to intercept
  • For example, you can tap the ball away or lift it over an outstretched foot
  • Your opponents know this and it makes them hesitant, giving you more time and space
  • If you have the ball under close control and the defender is a little way away, look up
  • You can then check what to do
