Demonstration practice
When you subscribe, you will also find:
Drill practices, Game practices and Practice at home, as well as more general coaching points ("Secrets").
Organization
Play e.g. three against three with five-metre goals. Score by rolling the ball in from a maximum of ten metres. Play with a maximum of two touches. The players look up the whole time to check what to do with the ball when they receive it.
Learning
The players practise looking up before they receive the ball, moving before their opponents and e.g. feinting a pass when the ball is on the way to them.
Variations
The player can have as many touches as he/she wants when intercepting, then only one touch.
Coaching points (here we call them SECRETS):
  • When the ball is on the way to you, it is good if you have already looked up
  • This will have enabled you to check what you can do with the ball when you receive it
  • You have checked your team-mates and your opponents positions and what they are doing
  • You will automatically see solutions to situations even before you receive the ball
  • It is then easier to carry out a skill effectively as soon as you receive the ball
  • At the same time, try to move before your opponents as often as possible
  • This gives you even more time and space to carry out your skills
  • This means that you get the greatest possible use out of your technique
  • Move early, e.g. by performing a feint while the ball is on the way to you
  • It is good to keep your opponents at a suitable distance, for example
  • This also gives you even more time and space e.g. to get control of the ball
